On April 24th & 25th Adirondack Health & Wellness attended the first ever SUNY Research Foundation symposium held in Albany, NY. Adirondack Health and Wellness provided CPR demonstrations, hands-on practice, and body composition analysis for representatives from all of the SUNY campuses through NYS.
Our Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) assisted people in letting them know how successful they were performing CPR. Here are some fun facts you should know about CPR and how it could save you or someone you know: CPR provides a trickle of oxygenated blood to the brain and heart and keeps these organs alive until defibrillation can shock the heart into a normal rhythm. If CPR is started within 4 minutes of collapse and defibrillation provided within 10 minutes a person has a 40% chance of survival.
Our body Composition Scale was a big hit! Literally, after seeing their results some people wanted to give this machine a “Big hit”. This scale uses formulas to calculate a body-fat percentage from this resistance information, along with other data that you enter (height, weight, age, gender). It provides you with your weight, metabolic age, body percentages and BMI. This scale brought awareness to individuals who are serious about taking control of their health. Overall this event was very educational and a huge success!
