On Thursday May 7 ADKHW teamed up with Stat Staff to host a Wellness Celebration for nurses Week. This event featured amazing chair massages, a delicious lunch from the Hungry Spot in Saratoga Springs, a Yoga class , Body Composition and a booth with a table cloth that read- “Be the Match”. I myself have never heard of “Be the Match” and for those of you who haven’t either here is what their Mission is- For the thousands of people diagnosed every year with life-threatening blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, a cure exists. Yet 70% of patients who need a transplant to do not have a matched donor in their family. They depend on be the Match and our supporters to find a match to save their life. Over the past 25 years be the Match, operated by the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), has managed the largest and most diverse marrow registry in the world. This is an amazing origination that saves lives. Giving the gift of hope and life is both precious and powerful. Please contact Be the Match if you would like to be a marrow donor, they are very accommodating and a great cause.
